Getting there
Saint-Estèphe sits within easy reach of Bordeaux. Below are the drivers and companies we work with. Call whichever suits you — most take bookings directly, and several answer around the clock.
From Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport and Bordeaux Saint-Jean Station.
Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport is approximately one hour from the château; Bordeaux Saint-Jean Station, one hour and fifteen minutes.
Make it a weekend
Signature No. 01 falls on Saturday 26 September. The Médoc is at its best that week — harvest is in full swing, the light is long and low, and the châteaux are alive. Many guests choose to arrive on the Friday and leave on the Monday. Below are the houses we know and trust, all within twenty minutes of the table.
Every house below opens in Maps when you tap its name. Open the château in Maps →
Whole houses and private estates, for those staying several days together, have a panel of their own —
Come together, stay together
The best way to do this weekend is not to leave after dessert. Take a house with the people you are coming with, arrive on the Friday, and let the Médoc do the rest — a long lunch in the vines, an afternoon by the pool, the dinner on Saturday, and nobody driving home at three in the morning.
The houses below take groups. Several can be booked in their entirety, most have a pool and a kitchen, and all are within twenty minutes of the table.
L'Évidence at Vertheuil, eight minutes away, also takes a whole party — a pool, a summer kitchen, and the abbey next door.
A tour of the estate and a tasting of its wines can be arranged for your group during the weekend, separately from the dinner. Tell us how many you are and when suits, and we will set it up.
For a private rental, search Saint-Estèphe, Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne, Vertheuil, Cissac-Médoc and Pauillac. Vignerons' houses with gardens and pools are plentiful, and September is late enough in the season to find them.
